American Civic Education App: Coming to a Place Near You!
America's Mock Election(AME) has been working to promote YLI's Mock Election program since 2016. AME has produced several mock election results programs as well as a Hundred Days Report that teachers have used in their classrooms. For the past year YLI, ConSource and AME have worked together to create the American Civic Education app in an effort to build excitement, engagement, and empowerment to the American Voting process. The app contains fun ways for citizens to acquire knowledge quickly. Intended to be used in a stand-alone kiosk the interface is perfect for grabbing the attention of shoppers, museum goers, or casual strollers.
Topics covered in the web-based app include: Voting, Finding Your Representative(s), Political Parties, the Constitution, and Inspirational Citizens. Activities included in the topics include a mock election, political personality survey, Constitution quiz and more. The app/kiosk is an great way to have students spread the importance of civic engagement to family and friends.
To visit the web-based app visit:www.americanciviceducation.org and to find out about placing a kiosk in your community contact Gerard Ferri, Executive Director of America's Mock Election, gferri@3ponline.net.
As with all YLI programs the American Civic Education app is available FREE of charge to teachers. For more information about the Youth Leadership Initiative please visit www.youthleadership.net.
