YLI Named a Charter Member of the Civics Renewal Network
YLI is proud to announce that it was named a Charter Member of the Civics Renewal Network (CRN). The Civics Renewal Network is a consortium of nonpartisan, nonprofit organizations committed to strengthening civic life in the U.S. by increasing the quality of civics education in our nation's schools and by improving accessibility to high-quality, no-cost learning materials. On the Civics Renewal Network site, teachers can find the best resources of these organizations, searchable by subject, grade, resource type, standards, and teaching strategy. YLI contributes to its resource database and in return receives marketing support from CRN and the other partner organizations. Charter membership means that YLI has the opportunity to meet in person and discuss the future of civic education with other groups working in the same arean. Instead of competing we are complimenting each other's objectives, goals and resources.
CRN is highlight Teaching Controversial Topics, Voting and the 19th Amendment for the fall season. YLI has contributed its Talking Turkey resources to the CRN website along with great Constitution Day materials.
