How can students, candidates, and community members get involved in YLI?
Interested students can ask a government, civics, or history teacher at their school to sign up with YLI online. There is no charge to schools to sign up or to participate in YLI. Students should download the flyer and give it to your teachers!

Elected officials, you're never far from a YLI school. Show your support for civic education by participating in the Youth Leadership Initiative debates, forums and community symposia. Also, thoughtfully respond to the letters and e-mails and requests generated by students. Encourage every school in your area to take part. Invest in strengthening America's democracy by continuing to support funding for the Youth Leadership Initiative.

Parents and community members can encourage schools in their community to register to participate in the Youth Leadership Initiative. The staff at YLI can provide information packets and materials to review and pass along to teachers and school leaders.
